1961 Gibson Les Paul/SG Standard Cherry #6255 w/HANG TAG + BROWN CASE

1961 Gibson Les Paul/SG Standard in its original Cherry finish. This is a fine example from the very first batch of the new Les Paul Standards in early '61 with a 4-digit serial number and pots dating to the 43rd week of 1960. It still has its original PAF pickups with original solder still on the pickup covers. The bridge is the original no-wire ABR-1 along with its original sideways Vibrola. It has a good playing neck with good frets, but the end of the neck has a little bit of a rise to it causing some bad fret buzz on the last few frets on the low and high E. It's all original with the exception of the nut, one of the tuning buttons, and one of the tuning keys which was replaced with an original exact match. The original tuning key that was replaced is included along with pieces of the two buttons that crumbled. The tuning buttons for the D + G strings are slightly bent, but operate just fine. This vintage Les Paul is also 100% complete along with its extremely rare original BROWN hardshell case, original Les Paul HANG TAG, original Gibson screwdriver, a few original Gibson string packets, and an early '60's Bobby Lee guitar strap. This guitar is in AMAZING condition with only a few nicks + dings, a few very minor finish cracks, some extremely minor belt buckle wear, and other minor surface wear. Everything remains structurally sound with no cracks, breaks, or repairs. All electronics work and sound great.
