1958 Fender Telecaster Blonde

Fender

$37,900

1958 Fender Telecaster in its original Blonde finish. It has a great playing neck with great frets. It's all original with the exception of the nut. It even has its original tweed hardshell case and original "ashtray" cover for the bridge. This Tele looks great with nicks + dings, finish checking and other cosmetic wear including a very small area where the finish is worn off from the corner of the headstock on the lower bass side. The guitar itself remains structurally sound with no cracks, breaks or repairs. The inside of the black switch tip is worn and is filled with material to properly grip the switch and firmly stay in place. The neckplate is very unique as it has an additional serial number stamped on the reverse side. All electronics work and sound great, but the neck position pickup has been repaired by removing the damaged surface of the internal pickup winding. The only solder joints that were reheated were the white lead connection on the pickup and where the chrome cover attaches to the ground wire, leaving all solder joints in the control cavity original and untampered with. The pickup is still wound with the original pickup wire, only less of it which has given it a much different reading of 3.94 ohms. Some pickup manufacturers/enthusiast subscribe to the school of thought that aiming to wind a pickup for this lower reading can be a preferred sound for some players. Danny Gatton for instance has a signature Joe Barden neck position Telecaster style pickup that typically reads around 4.2 ohms. It is definitely a different tone. The bridge position pickup reads at 7.14 ohms. The weight is 7 lbs. 11.4 oz. We are happy to ship internationally.
